DrupalCamp Bangkok Registration Closed
Submitted by jfxberns on Fri, 05/09/2008 - 12:05.We regret to announce that we must close the registration for DrupalCamp Bangkok early due to the overwhelming number of people registered.
That's the bad news.
The good news is we will have a lot of Drupal folks showing up and DrupalCamp Bangkok should rock!
If you did not get a chance to register, worry not! We will have another DrupalCamp in Bangkok someday soon.
Sign up for the Barcamp Bangkok newsletter (Over on the right sidebar. See it? Great.) and we will keep you informed of future Barcamp Bangkok events.
More Barcamp-style events to be announced soon.
If you want to organize your own "camp" style event, contact us--we can put you in touch with other people that might be interested as well.
Drupalcamp Bangkok
DrupalCamp is coming to Bangkok: May 24, 2008
For those people that already know what Drupal is and what a Barcamp is, you know what you need to do: Register for DrupalCamp now.
Sorry, registration is now closed. We are already over-capacity for the venue. But please sign up for the Barcamp Bangkok mailing list--the signup is on the left sidebar--and will keep you posted on future events.
We will hold the first-ever DrupalCamp in Thailand on Saturday May 24th, at the conference facilities of Inet, on the 13th floor of the Thai Summit Tower, Petchaburi Road, just east of the Ratchadaphisek / Asoke intersection.
More details on the time and place (with map).
The event will be barcamp-style, which means that it's open to everybody, but everybody should come ready to participate. Be prepared to talk on a topic of your own choice as well as listening to, sharing with and learning from other people interested in Drupal. Topics are not set before hand--so we set teh agenda on the day of the event so everybody can propose topics and vote for the topics that interest them.
We will also be running a full-day "Intro to Drupal" track that will cover everything from setting up a basic install to intermediate skills of customizing with modules, CCK and Views.
If you are a web developer with even the slightest interest in Drupal we encourage you come come. If you are already using Drupal, you are not going to want to miss this event.
If you want to start the conversation early, come join us on the #barcamp-bangkok IRC channel on Freenode.
Barcamp Bangkok 2 Dates Up For a Vote
Submitted by jfxberns on Mon, 03/24/2008 - 10:56.We want to see what dates are good for people who plan to attend Barcamp Bangkok 2.
So far, people have seemed to prefer July for the next Barcamp Bangkok. OK--that narrows it a bit--but we need ONE BEST DATE.
Vote your choice here: http://doodle.ch/3v2e5hitedne756c
Mind you, the results of the poll are not binding, we have to figure in things like "is the place we want to have barcamp available on that date?" and certain auspicious astrological conditions must be met, blah, blah, blah...
But we want to know... what date is best for you?

Bugathon: March 29th @ Coffee World on Silom
Submitted by jfxberns on Thu, 03/20/2008 - 07:21.We are trying to help organize more community events and in that spirit, some Barcampers have organized a BugAthon to make the world a slightly less buggy place:
BugAThon - Sat 29 March, noon onwards @ Coffee World, Silom (BTS Saladang, opposite California Wow! fitness, Soi Convent / opposite McDonald’s, CP Tower.) We will sprint for bugs in Firefox/Gecko, OpenOffice.org, foss, etc. especially Thai-related bugs.
The goal? To find and report bugs in some popular open source software so they can be fixed and make everybody's life just a little easier.

BarCamp Bangkok Winter 2008
What is Barcamp?
BarCamp is an international network of user-generated conferences — open, participatory workshop-events, whose content is provided by participants — often focusing on early-stage web applications, and related open source technologies, social protocols, and open data formats. The event will be bilingual, in both English and Thai.
There is no audience, only participants. All participants should give a demo, a session, photos, videos or anything else. All presentation are scheduled immediately before the event by reserving slots at the venue.
