Barcamp: Things You Should Know

When and Where?

It starts at 9:00 am Saturday morning. The place is Sripatum University on Phaholyothin Road, between Kaset Nawamin Road and Chaeng Wattana. When you enter the campus, just follow the Barcamp signs.

What to Expect

Here is how Barcamp works:

You come to Barcamp. You sign in and get a name badge (you will need to keep this; security at Sripatum asks that we wear them at all time. You register for a wifi password. You get a rockin' Barcamp T-shirt. For Free. Yeah—free.

Then it's time to post the topics you want to present. Post a topic that interests you. It doesn't have to be some fancy presentation. It can be a discussion or a panel. It can be tech related—or about anything. Be creative. Have fun.

Then we take a marker and vote for the topics we are interested. Mark he topics you are interested in. Mark one. Mark ten. Mark them all. Whatever interests you. The topics that get the most votes—those will be added to the agenda. When we have a full agenda—it's Barcamp time! We will have many interesting sessions on many topics. All day long. Until 6:00pm. With a lunch break and a snack. They meals are free. Yeah—free.

At 6:00 pm the official session are over. We move to dinner. (yeah, that's free too) and then you can stay all night (if you want) and be a geek with a whole lot of other geeks. We have a lot of fun things planned—and a lot of fun unplanned things planned. Yeah—unplanned. Or go home and miss it. Up to you.

10:00 am Sunday, we start again. Be there. It will be more fun on Sunday. And we go to 6:00 pm.

What to Bring

Be ready to participate. Nobody “makes” Barcamp for you. You make Barcamp. Be ready to present or help a presenter—or help somewhere.

Bring a laptop and blog if you want. Or tweet. We have wifi everywhere.

Bring a power strip so you can share power with a friend—or make a new friend.

If you stay overnight, bring a mat, a pillow and toiletries. SPU has a heath club with showers for B50.

A Few Things to Know

All food and drink is taken care of for you. All weekend.

Bring your toys (laptops, digital cameras, etc.) but it's your job to watch them.

Have fun. Help others have fun. Barcamp is what you make it.

One serious note

If you are sick, or think you have the flu, we kindly ask you don't come. We will miss you, but we really don't want to see people get sick.

เอาอะไรมาบ้าง
